It seems like things can’t get much worse for women going through divorce and then something else comes into play.
I have warned you that you need to prepare for all of the possible events that might occur during the divorce process. I have been remiss because I have not detailed the possibilities of what might happen to a woman who has a career with an extraordinarily high income.
I am speaking about manamony. There are varying degrees of what can happen when a woman is required to pay. I am going to share a story that was recently shared with me. Please keep in mind the fact that different states have different laws so where the divorce petition is filed does indeed make a difference.
In this case, it was ordered that an ex-wife pay $3,000.00 per month to her ex-husband indefinitely and the order is not modifiable. The ex-wife earned in excess of $500,000.00 per year at the time but after the divorce, her medical practice could no longer afford malpractice insurance. The ex-husband is a contractor who had previously earned over $100,000.00 per year. He was never a stay at home dad but when the economy took a nose dive, he lost his earning ability.
Their children are adults so no child support is involved.
The ex-wife is now working for another medical practice and her earnings are currently less than $100,000.00 per year. The ex-husband is back to work and is earning almost the same but with one difference. His bank shows deposits of $3,000.00 per month in manamony.
Hmmmmm…
