Moms Don’t Quit Yet!

If you are anything like I was, I had no legal agreement at the time that I became a stay at home mom, over 24 years ago. Quite the contrary, I only had stars in my eyes and love for my husband and children.

I was thrilled at the prospect of being a full time wife and mother. I married for better or worse and kept my vows. The purpose of my suggestion of a “contract” is very simple. Women need to “hedge their bets” when they give up their livelihoods to be stay at home moms.

A simple “post nup” before a woman quits her job, would protect her. A loving husband WOULD want to protect his wife in the event of a tragedy. What is so different about protecting her in the event of divorce?

My wish is that women will protect themselves PRIOR to quitting their jobs to be stay at home moms. That way they won’t be blind sided in the event of divorce.
