Money Doesn’t Grow on Trees

I have been asked recently, “What exactly is a divorce coach and why would I need one?”  You are not alone if you don’t know what a divorce coach is or why you might need one. I have posted on this subject before but I will attempt to go into more detail now.

There are different kinds of divorce coaches who have varying areas of expertise, fees and duties. Not all situations require a divorce coach when a couple is divorcing.

My expertise comes from the hundreds of women all over the United States, who have shared their stories, sought my counsel and have informed me of the value of my work and how much I helped them emotionally and financially.

It pleases me greatly to know that I have made and will continue to make the divorce process easier for women to endure. My goal is to help women so they won’t have to live through the kind of emotional and financial devastation that many women experience.

Too often, women get so caught up in the emotions that come with a failed marriage that they waste money and time with attorneys in an effort to gain what might not be feasible or even possible.

I will offer you reality checks that will assist you in focusing on what is important for you and your children. I will offer you divorce support by informing you, preparing you and saving you money during the divorce process.

Many of you have never dealt with attorneys prior to now. When you enter the attorney’s office for the first time, you feel intimidated. You are already caught up in fear, anger and possible retribution so you end up paying an attorney outrageous legal fees needlessly.

I will help you as you begin to interview attorneys. I will recommend questions to ask and will help you understand how attorneys’ rates differ and reveal ways that you can lower your legal fees.

If you already have a divorce attorney and are further along in the process, you will have different issues. I will explain ways to keep your attorneys’ fees down and will help you if there is a possibility that you might need to consider changing attorneys.

If your situation doesn’t warrant traditional divorce litigation, I will tell you. I will help you to understand the benefits or detriments of divorce court. In most cases, I will suggest that you avoid it at all costs. Divorce Court is always good for the attorneys involved but not for the litigants.

I will help you gain perspective so that you will be able to realize that your life after divorce is of more importance than the divorce battle itself.

I will help you to create a plan of action and then offer ways that will empower you into accomplishing your goals. I will offer you other resources if needed to help you cope with your divorce.

I will be in your corner and will do my best to work with you at the times you most need me. I will be a shoulder to cry on but more importantly, I will be there to help you pick yourself up, wipe yourself off and move on to the next phase of your life.

Regarding my coaching:

  • I am not pro-divorce.
  • I am not a substitute for an attorney. I will not offer legal advice.
  • I am not a psychologist. I will not offer psychological counseling.
