This is a formal give yourself permission to have a good cry. You got through the holidays the best you could considering…
The New Year came and you had the very best of intentions to make changes in your life. Now you are two weeks into the New Year and you are feeling like a failure again.
Why? The answer is easy to see when you are on the outside looking in. It isn’t easy to see when you are living through it.
So, take a pause here and just go and have a cry. Don’t come back to finish reading until you have gotten it out of your system. Please.

Okay, so now take a few deep breaths and try to relax a bit. When you are able to focus, think about just one thing.
You aren’t where you are today because of two weeks. You are where you are today because of the passing of years, months, weeks, days, hours and minutes. So go easy on yourself and be realistic.
Things will change for you if you keep working toward that end. You need to be patient with yourself. You need to be forgiving of the fact that big changes can’t be achieved in two short weeks and you need to get some exercise in order to feel better.
Before you go to bed tonight, think about one small thing you want to accomplish tomorrow. Make it a small thing. Tomorrow, fill your thoughts with how you will feel when you go to bed tomorrow night having accomplished that one small thing.
Then do the same thing each and every evening and morning. I am confident that you will have the weight of the world lifted off of your shoulders before you know it. We have all heard the saying that the rest of your life begins with one small step. Guess what? It’s true.
