Men and women come from two different places but often they live in the same place. Sometimes communication can be difficult even though the couple is deeply in love with each other. Think about how difficult it is when the marriage isn’t going well.
We all know how easy it is to talk to a girlfriend but often we don’t know how to talk to a man especially our own man. Edit needed! We don’t know how to talk to a man so that he listens and comprehends what we are saying and or feeling.
Since women tend to be more long winded than men, on the rare occasion that a woman gives a one word answer, the man becomes bewildered.
A friend recently eves dropped on a conversation and felt the need to share it. I have to admit it made me laugh so I am sharing the gist of it with you.
Apparently, the husband called his wife from work one day. He said something like, “Honey, I have to work late tonight. I won’t be home until about 9:00. I’ll grab a bite on the way so there’s no need to cook dinner.”
Normally, her response would have been a barrage of questions like, “Why do you have to work late? Why didn’t you get your work done in time? Is anyone else working late? Is everything okay? Where will you grab a bite? Wouldn’t it be better if I saved you dinner?”
That time her response was, “Right.”
The man panicked. Since she didn’t question him, he began to question himself and then his friend. “What did she mean by right? Didn’t she think I was really working? Did she think I was playing around? Why didn’t she care where I ate? Does she think I don’t like her cooking? Doesn’t she care about me any more?”
So, the lesson learned from the conversation was that the man couldn’t comprehend what the one word answer meant even though one word answers were what he always gave her.
