I had to laugh at Mr. Rugby today. We were out doing our…literally OUR exercise and in order to get Rugby to try a little harder, I put his treats…just a little out of reach. Rugby is so brilliant that he has figured out how to cheat on his therapy. He will take just enough steps to get close enough to the bowl that he is able to pick it up with his teeth and then pull it close enough to eat without that extra exertion. Yet another lesson in life, he teaches. We all think there is an easier way than just plain hard work but guess what? There are no shortcuts! Even my brilliant boy hasn’t quite figured out that working harder those last few inches instead of cheating…will help more in the long run! Literally in the LONG RUN! In his case that is monumental!
