A while ago, a young friend of mine from Twitter, named Gloson Teh aka @Gloson told me about a site and it has made a huge impression on me. I return to it over and over again because of my mission to help people, especially children to deal with all of the negativity that comes with a disability. The site is http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/ The young man who began this site and an incredible mission of his own, is Nick Vujicic.
If you can think about how it would feel to be “…born without arms. No arms to wrap around someone, no hands to experience touch, or to hold another hand with. Or what about being born without legs? Having no ability to dance, walk, run, or even stand on two feet. Now put both of those scenarios together… no arms and no legs. What would you do? How would that affect your everyday life? Well this is the story of Nick Vujicic.
He was born in 1982 in Brisbane, Australia. There was no medical explanation or warning that preempted his arrival into the world with neither arms nor legs. Having had an uneventful pregnancy and no family history to expect this condition, imagine the shock his parents felt when they saw their first born, brand new baby boy, only to find he was what the world would call deformed.
Whenever I find myself having a bit of a pity party, I go to Nick’s site and then count my blessings. Nick is in my opinion, one of the finest, most courageous and most giving human beings that God has put on this earth to teach us what life should be all about.
In my own meager way, I am trying to offer a send a similar message to people and in particular children who face life with some kind of “different-ness.” I know only too well that my own experiences and efforts pale in comparison to Nick’s but I must attempt to make a difference in my own way. Having said that, I would like to share with you a comment, I just read on YouTube. The comment was in reference to the video that my son made in an effort to tell the story of Rugby Jones who is a handicapped Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

“Thank you Rugby Jones. My son was born with a disease that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He has begun notice that he is different from the other kids and has had a tough time dealing with this. After showing him this video, he has begun to feel better about himself and his disability.”
The comment brought tears to my eyes because it means that Rugby Jones and I are at the very cusp of the launching of a mission aimed at helping kids of all ages who are so very special in some very small way.
