Some of you say that you feel like failures. You are afraid that people are laughing at you. You are sure that everybody is against you. You say that there is no hope. You are afraid.
OK ladies, here is your wake up call! You need to end the pity parties! It’s time to move on with your lives!
I want to quote some comments that were actually made directly to this unemployed 47 year old woman’s face. Mind you, this is a woman who lives alone with her cat.
People are laughing at you.
Everybody is laughing at you.
Everybody is against you.
The words would have stung except that this woman had guts and ambition. She took what she had and ran with it. The bottom line is that no one is laughing now. People were cynical. They are not cynical now! This woman could move on with her life even though she was demeaned and intimidated. She could go back home with her head held high. Why? She dared to dream a dream and give it all she had!
She uttered the following words:
There was a time when love was blind and the world was a song and the song was exciting. Then it all went wrong. There was a time when hope was high and life was worth living. I dreamed that love would never die. I had a dream my life would be so different from this hell I’m living and so different now from what it seemed. Now life has killed the dream I dreamed.
Many of you might have heard about her and the message she shared. For those of you who didn’t, please permit me. The woman’s name is Susan Boyle. While her message isn’t about divorce, it is about taking a chance to dream and act on that dream. These are the lyrics of the song that she “belted out” to the world.
So here is a simple country girl who was willing to take a chance because she believed that she could live her dream and did what needed to be done. Was she pretty, thin and beautiful? The answer is “no” and look at her!
