When women, especially stay at home moms are faced with divorce, strategy is the probably the last things on their minds. Strategy should be one of the first things on their minds.

That being said, most of the women facing divorce are not only novices but they are without any understanding of the financial, legal, and emotional ramifications of ending a marriage. Even if someone has experienced a divorce previously, chances are pretty good that the second time the circumstances are totally different. If children are involved, the situation becomes even more complicated.

The emotional issues that families face with divorce make it very difficult for perspective to be kept. Even when women seek psychological counseling, the fallout from the divorce process is often devastating.

Making the correct decisions during the divorce process impacts financial and emotional security. It is not wise to be penny wise and pound foolish. That said, you don’t always get what you pay for. Think about it.
