I can’t tell you enough that ignoring the warning signs will not deter a divorce. Quite the contrary! You need to heed the warnings and begin to prepare yourself.
No matter how many times you tell yourself that you are in it for life, doesn’t make it true. He might not be and if he isn’t, you aren’t.
It’s so important that you at the very least, begin to do some divorce homework.
- Find out about all of the marital assets.
- Copy any and all important documents.
- Find out about daycare and the locations and costs.
- Update your resume and begin to research possible jobs.
- Get a credit card in your name.
- Take pictures or movies of all of the assets in your home and safety deposit box.
This may seem so unimportant as the holidays and cooking and presents come into play. Believe me. You will be ahead of the game come January if you did a bit of homework to prepare yourself.
