Going Green is a great idea in and of itself. The problem lies in the fact that gullible people are being sucked into spending money on bogus natural products that do nothing more than contribute to the green in the seller’s wallet. Often times, the sad reality is that the products do the opposite of what the purchaser envisioned as being his or her contribution to helping the environment. It seems as though everyone is getting on the bandwagon these days.
I am sure that many of you have heard about the theory that couples who remain married instead of divorcing are helping the environment. The theory is that, the more people who live under one roof the more the green for the earth. Why? The divorce requires two people to live under two roofs instead of one. The result is that potentially more electricity, more gas, more water, etc. will be used. So here’s an idea of how you can divorce and help the environment. (LOL) The ex-husband and the ex-wife should move in with their adult kids. Picture this: Dad moves in with his son and his wife and their three children. Mom moves in with her daughter and her husband. Now, the divorced couple is no longer living in an unhappy marriage in order to help the environment. (As if they really would!)
The couple is now living separately and happily with their children and the number of people under one roof has increased and thus the environment is helped. Here is the rub. As in everything, here on our somewhat green earth, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This opposite reaction could possibly be the fact that mom and dad are enjoying life but the children and their families, are not. Because of the constant discord, due to granddad’s arrival, son and daughter in law get divorced.
Their children are too young to take in their parents so we are back to the same number of homes as we were when mom and dad got divorced. Now for similar reasons daughter and son in law get divorced and they have no children so now we are living in one home more than before. And on and on, it goes. So plainly, this green divorce business can be manipulated in whatever way the writer or speaker wants to substantiate his or her opinion. I don’t believe that this idea is worth much. Yes, it’s timely but it ends there.
So now, back to what I started to say in the beginning, buyers need to beware of the swindlers out there, who are using the green thing to scheme their way into emptying out your bank account. Before you buy, do your homework.
