Someone just told me a joke and I want to share it with you. I have no idea from where it came but it did give me quite a laugh about attorneys and their billable hours.
A lawyer died and arrived at the pearly gates. To his dismay, there were thousands of people ahead of him in line to see Saint Peter. To his surprise, Saint Peter left his desk at the gate and came down the long line to where he was standing. Saint Peter greeted him warmly. Then, Saint Peter and one of his assistants took the lawyer by the elbows and helped him toward the front of the line where there was a comfortable and plush chair next to Saint Peter’s desk.
The lawyer said, “I am thrilled that you are welcoming me like this but please tell me why you helped me to the front of the line…ahead of everyone else?”
Saint Peter replied, “I have done my homework on you and your life. After I added everything up, I found out that the billable hours that you charged your clients shows that you are over 193 years old.”
