How did you arrive on this site? Is it because you are thinking about divorce? Is it because your spouse has filed for divorce? Maybe it’s because you are trying to help a loved one find out about the divorce process. Whatever the reason, I know I can help you. In fact, you can find out a great deal about the divorce process by just reading the different blog posts on this site.

I would like to clarify one thing. My expertise is in helping women deal with divorce. I am not anti-man and I certainly understand that in some cases, men also get burned.

There are always two sides to every story but what I do here is help women.

One of the things that I get complimented on most by my clients is that I helped them to save money on the divorce process.  Please check out the posts that are directed toward how to select an attorney, how to understand legal fees and billable hours, and how to avoid getting caught up on the divorce court locomotive.

Four Steps to Help Prepare for Divorce

  • I suggest that you get a notebook and keep it in a private place. Categorize the notebook into areas that are pertinent to your divorce. Keep it short so that you can refer to it as you step into the process without having to waste time.
  • My next suggestion is that you also keep a journal about events that occur. (This is also something that must be kept where nobody can find it.) This may seem unimportant but trust me when I say that it can help you fill in the blanks when the time comes.
  • The next thing is to research the divorce laws in your state. This will help you understand what may happen during the process.
  • Next is to research divorce attorneys and start the interviews.

This is just the tip of the iceberg but it will certainly give you a head start in where to begin and what to do next.

If I can help, please don’t hesitate to call me. Remember that I was where you are. I made it through my divorce and so can you.
