Can you imagine what it would be like to have a wife? I’m not talking about anything sexual. I’m talking about the reality of what it would be like to have a wife in your life!
Okay, so picture this: You wake up and someone brings you coffee, brings in the morning paper for you, picks up your dirty clothes, makes your breakfast and you don’t need to talk to her if you don’t want to. You read the paper and leave for work. She takes care of your kids, does the grocery shopping and does your laundry. You work during the day and head home. She is waiting for you. Your children have been bathed and are in their PJ’s. You pat their heads and ask them a few questions and then she whisks them off to bed.
You smell something wonderful cooking. She returns from putting your children to bed. She calls you for dinner and pours you a glass of wine. Dinner is on the table, the paper is folded next to your plate. You are tired and don’t want to talk but you need a few answers. You ask if she completed the tax information to take to the accountant. You ask if she made an appointment for you to go to the dentist. You ask if she had the oil changed in the car. You ask if she picked up your dry cleaning and ironed your favorite golf shirt. You ask if the plumber fixed the leaky faucet. She answers , “yes” to all of your questions.
You then, open the paper and begin to read. After your dinner is finished, she picks up the dishes and begins to wash them. She brings you dessert and coffee. Tonight is Monday night football. You leave to go watch TV. She seems tired. Thank God. You won’t have to talk any more and can watch football. She tells you that she is tired and gives you a kiss, goodnight. Ah, you think to yourself, I made it through another day. Thank God I am married to a stay at home mom.
