Wow! How time fly’s. I am so sorry not to have made a post in such a long time. Tomorrow is Halloween and all of the youngsters…and the oldsters…are getting ready. This post, on the other hand, will go in a totally different direction for the moment. I don’t think I have ever told a joke here but this one almost made me fall over with laughter. Hopefully, you will agree.
— A young bride was planning her wedding and received a call from her mother saying that she had found the perfect mother of the bride dress. The bride went to her mother’s house and she tried on the dress for her. The bride was thrilled because her mom looked beautiful!
Sometime later, the groom’s mother called the bride to tell her that she had found a dress and wanted her to come see it. When she arrived at her future mother in law’s house and saw the dress, she was mortified. It was the same dress and the same color as her own mother’s dress. The bride pleaded with the soon to be mother-in-law to exchange the dress for another since it was the same one as her mother’s. The groom’s mother told her flatly, “Absolutely not! I look beautiful in this dress! I’m wearing it!”
The bride left totally shaken. She went to her mother’s house and told her mom what had happened. To her amazement, the bride’s mom reacted by saying, “Don’t worry honey. This is your special day and I will find a different dress for your wedding. This is just not a big deal.” The bride was so happy. She was so grateful to have a mother who was so gracious.
Exactly one week before the wedding, when the bride went to visit her mom, she saw the “dress” still hanging up. The bride panicked and shouted, “Mom! I thought you were going to get another dress for the wedding.” Her mom told her that she had gotten another dress for the wedding. The bride asked her, “Then…why do you still have this dress?” Her mother answered, “That is the dress I’m wearing to the rehearsal dinner.” 😉
So on that note, hopefully you found that funny. I sure did. A bit of unsolicited advice…for any of you planning a wedding, invited to a wedding or part of a wedding…in any fashion…sorry for the pun! Please don’t lose sight of the fact that a wedding is a celebration for the bride and groom and their love and commitment and as such, everyone should do as they desire. This is their day! As harsh as this may sound, It’s not about you!
