Instead of focusing on where you are right now, focus on where you want to be and what you will need to do to get there. Remember that it takes time, effort and support to be an “overnight” success. You will have to climb some stairs to get to the next stage of your life!
You must keep a certain mindset if you are to rise above this difficult time and move on to a better and happier life.

- Don’t make my children pick sides.
- Interview attorneys.
- Voice my concerns appropriately.
- Own my actions and my divorce.
- Remember that I will survive.
- Courage is part of me.
- Each and every day will get better.
- Give myself time to grieve.
- Understand the process of divorce.
- Independence is an important part of the new me.
- Don’t be afraid to change attorneys if need be.
- Expect quality legal help.
- Learn ways to cope.
- Ignore people’s unkind words and actions.
- Never bad mouth my soon to be ex-husband to my children.
- Evolve into a stronger and more confident woman.
- Seek professional help if the need arises.
