Most attorneys do a lot of communication with emails. If your attorney is emailing your spouse’s attorney and visa versa, simply ask your attorney to copy you on the emails. That is an easy way to keep you informed without the need of paying additional billable hours for a phone call.
In addition, you will know exactly what is going on and if you need to give input, you’ll know when.
