Stacy Francis Can and You Can Too!

If ever there was a poster woman for this site, it would be Stacy Francis. She auditioned for the X Factor last night. If you are one of the many women who is beaten down by a spouse who makes you feel like you can’t, this woman will show you that with the right attitude, you can!

Her story: “I’m 42 years old and a single mother of two; a five month old and a three year old. It’s been very difficult… when you try to sing with two kids. Late at night when my kids are asleep I go into the bathroom and sing…In my late 20s and early 30s, I met someone and things went really wrong. He kept telling me I was too old or that I wasn’t talented enough and I started believing it… I started believing him and he started pushing me around and I lost faith in myself. I’m so scared but I’m so ready because as a mom I feel like this is my last shot to make an impact and really grow forward for my kids. My son needs to start school next year and I need to be able to pay for that so now… the time is now.”

As she goes on stage for the X Factor, Simon asked her why she hadn’t done this before and why things hadn’t worked out for her. Her answer was that she sort of got stuck starting at 30 years old or so she felt like she was too old. She said she had been living with that belief for 12 years. Then she looked at Simon and said, “I don’t want to die with this music in me Simon.”

At that moment she began to sing Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin. I got tears in my eyes as I watched and listened. When she finished, Paula said, “This is your time baby. God bless you!” Simon said, “I’ve been doing this a long time… and this was one of the best auditions I’ve heard in my life. You did not only sing it, you believed in it! Loved it. Loved it.
