Insurance for Stay at Home Moms

Valentine’s Day is here. So much emotion goes along with romance and marriage and couples see their love as true and everlasting. Since statistics show otherwise, it’s prudent to take precautions.

Couples who plan to marry often sign prenuptial agreements in an effort to protect themselves from financial devastation in the case of divorce.

In many cases, the moment that the subject of a prenuptial agreement is brought up by one of the parties, romance can begin to take a downhill path. If only one person suggests the idea of a prenuptial agreement, the other often feels as though he or she isn’t trusted or really loved.

After all they ask, “Why are we getting married if you think we will get divorced?”

Statistics show that almost 50% of marriages end in divorce, so is protecting your financial future a mistake?

Prenuptial agreements are not new. They have existed for thousands of years where royal families needed to  protect their wealth in the event of divorce or death.

If you are considering a prenuptial agreement, I suggest very strongly that you think about adding an addendum if you plan to stay home with the kids after they arrive. That addendum would protect you as a stay at home mom in the event of divorce.
